Anne Frank The Diary of a Young Girl is an astonishing book of a young girl and her family, along with some others, in hiding for two years during the Holocaust. After reading this it is clear that Anne is a very independent and strong woman. She says she is mature for her age and from the way she wrote in her diary I believe this to be true. At times she does seem quite boring but wouldn't you if you were stuck in an attic with nothing to do? Anne wants to make something of her life and for everyone to know and love her. From what she wrote is seems she does talk a lot and babble on sometimes, I think it is because no ever listened to what she had to say but Peter. Anne was selfish but caring, conceded but shy. I am appreciative that I was able to learn about Anne Frank and how she died, for she has taught me so much just through her personal thoughts and feelings.
Anne talked a lot of how she felt mature and independent for her age. I sometimes feel the complete opposite, as I am immature for my age. Although, I do feel somewhat a little more independent than others at times. There really was nothing about Anne that I could relate to so I decided I would tell you how I was opposite. The things Anne wrote made it sound like she was dying to grow up and get her life started, and I would like to stay a kid as long as possible. I know I said I could not relate to Anne, mostly I can't, but it seems we both have parents that treat us like a five year old. Anne wants to grow up but is not sure of it, I on the other hand am.
Overall I have learned a lot from reading this book and some things I already knew but needed a reminder. This book has taught me that no matter our looks or beliefs we are all human. I learned that one should not be teased or punished for being different because in the end we are all different in our own way. I feel that hatred because of ones religion is still happening today but is not as bad as it was. I don't think there will ever be a day when everyone gets along because there will always be one person that thinks their religion is the best in world and hates all others. I would never tease someone because of their religion or looks but this had made me think twice about standing up and stopping someone who will. I have learned even more things that I could list but I think it's best if you read and learn them for yourself, as you will get so much more out of it than me explaining it.
